$0.46m export orders received from Delhi trade fair

Bangladesh received confirmed spot order of US$ 3,40,000 and prospective order of US$ 1,20,000 in India International Trade Fair-2007 (IITF).
IITF -2007 was held during November 14-27 in New Delhi, said a press release of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) that organised the participation of various companies from Bangladesh in the fair.
President of India Prativa Patil inaugurated the mega event on November 14 last at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
Soon after the inauguration the Indian President briefly visited the Bangladesh pavilion along with others.
The main objective of participation of Bangladesh is to familiarise and create market demand of Bangladeshi products in SAARC countries, especially in India.
Bangladeshi products, especially textile items like Jamdani sarees, Tangail sarees, high quality silk and synthetic ornamental sarees were displayed in the fair.
Information about other export items like woven and knit garments, light engineering, ceramic, handicrafts, jute, leather products etc were disseminated in the fair.
A total of 44 countries including Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam, the USA, Brazil, Iran, Tanzania, Nigeria, Germany, Australia Japan and all SAARC countries participated in the fair.
