$12.5m Korean investment in Karnaphuli EPZ

Korean company OFMA Camp Limited will set up a tent, sleeping bags, camping furniture, tent and sleeping bags accessories manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone.

This 100 per cent foreign-owned company will invest about Tk 850 million in setting up their plant and will produce annually 15-30 million pieces of sleeping bags, tents, camping furniture and its accessories.

The company will create employment opportunity for 785 Bangladeshi and 05 foreign nationals.

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Member (Investment Promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and OFMA Camp Limited Managing Director Byeong Soo Jeon signed an agreement to this effect at BEPZA Complex in the city Sunday.

BEPZA Executive Chairman Jamil Ahmed Khan, Member (Engineering) Md Farhad Uddin, Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary BM Kamal, General Manager (Investment Promotion) S M Abdur Rashid, Manager (Industrial Relations) Md Abdus Sobhan and from investors' side Khadem Rasul Bhuiyan were present at the signing ceremony.
