$1.8b foreign aid received in 11 months

Bangladesh received US$ 1,829.73 million as foreign assistance from the development partners during the 11 months (July-May) of the current fiscal year (2009-10). Of the total foreign assistance, $ 1,445.69 million came as loan while $ 384.03 million as grants, said a source at the Economic Relations Division (ERD). Of the total loan, Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided $ 995.211 million, World Bank (WB) $ 316.858 million, Japan $ 75.21 million and the rest other development partners. — UNB
