$24.601m foreign-owned co to be set up in Karnaphuli EPZ

Paxar Bangladesh Limited, a 100 per cent Netherlands-USA owned company, will set up a garment accessories manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
In this connection, an agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Paxar Bangladesh Limited in city Sunday, said a press release.
Member (Engineering) of the BEPZA M Mahbub Ul Alam and Managing Director of Paxar Bangladesh Limited Pradeep J Sugathadasa signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
The company will invest US$24,601 million in setting up its unit and will produce garment accessories.
The company will also create employment opportunity for 519 Bangladeshi including eight foreign nationals.
Among others, Executive Chairman of the BEPZA Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed Khan was present at the agreement signing ceremony, the release added.
