0.12m Yaba tablets seized in Teknaf

COX'S BAZAR, Oct 4 (UNB): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 0.12 million pieces of Yaba tablet and a boat from the Naf river in Teknaf uapzila early Saturday.
Acting on secret information that a huge haul of Yaba tablets was being smuggled into the country from Myanmar, a team of BGB-42 launched a drive in no 4 sluice gate area near a dam of the Water Development Board and challenged a boat coming from Myanmar around 3.00am, said Commanding Officer of BGB-42 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Abujar Al Zahid.
As the smugglers sensed the presence of the border guards, they managed to escape leaving behind a boat.
Later, the BGB team recovered 0.12 million pieces of Yaba tablet from the boat.
They also took the boat into custody.
The market value of the seized Yaba tablets was estimated at Tk 36 million, he said.
