0.1m Yaba seized in Dhaka, Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel in separate drives seized 0.1 million (100,000) pieces of Yaba tablet in Dhaka and Chittagong cities from Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon. In Dhaka, RAB-10 personnel arrested an alleged drug trader from Jurain area under Shyampur Police Station and recovered 90,000 pieces of Yaba tablet from him on Sunday afternoon. The RAB-10 identified the arrestee as Titu Khan, 34. RAB-10 Commanding Officer (CO) additional deputy inspector general (DIG) Jamil Ahmed said being tipped off, a team of the elite force raided a house conducted a drive in the area and seized 90,000 Yaba tablets, three mobile phone sets and five SIMs from a house in Jurain and arrested Titu along with 90,000 Yaba tablets. In Chittagong, RAB arrested an alleged drug peddler from in front of the main entrance of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) under Panchlaish Police Station in the port city on Saturday afternoon and recovered 9,800 pieces of Yaba from him. The arrestee was idfentified as Mohammad Ganu Mia (50), son of late Oli Ahmed of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. RAB handed him over to Pachlaish Thana, according to a news agency.
