0.30m tonnes of urea fertiliser to be imported

The government Monday decided to import 300,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser at a cost of Tk 6.07 billion targeting to meet the mounting demand in the next Boro cropping season.
The cabinet committee on government purchase decided to import some 150,000 tonnes of prilled urea fertiliser and another 150,000 tonnes of granular urea fertiliser in its meeting held in the Secretariat with the Finance Minister AMA Muhith in the chair.
