0.5m bank accounts opened for ultra poor

A total of 0.5 million ultra poor across the country opened bank accounts until October 14, official sources said Thursday. Bangladesh Bank (BB) at the request of Food and Disaster Management Ministry earlier offered the ultra poor people cheaper bank accounts so they can receive government financial assistance and other payments directly to their accounts. — BSS
