1 arrested with firearm, bullet

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested a man along with a firearm and one round of bullet from Adarsha Ayesha School ground at Hujarajapur village at Jessore Sadar upazila. The arrested is Anwar Hossain, son of Babar Ali, a resident of Ichhali village of the upazila. DB police sources said tipped off that a gang of robbers was preparing to commit a robbery at Hujarajapur, a team of detectives launched a drive there on Wednesday. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the miscreants attempted to escape, police chased them and caught Anwar along with a revolver and a bullet. The arrestee is wanted in several cases, police said, according to UNB.
