1 bombed then shot dead in Meherpur

A man was murdered by a gang of unidentified miscreants in Noorpur area in Meherpur town on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Manir Uddin, son of Muluk, a resident of the area. Police suspected the victim to be a member of a robbers’ gang. Police and locals said, two armed men whom they suspected to be associates of Manir came in a motorcycle, hurled a crude bomb at him and fired a shot at him at a market in the area, leaving him critically injured. He was whisked off to Meherpur district hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:00pm, according to UNB.
