1 dies, 2 fall sick after drinking soft drinks

A minor girl died and her mother and maternal uncle fell sick following intake of soft drinks in Khoksa upazila in Kushtia on Saturday afternoon. The dead is Afsana, 1 year, daughter of Asad Munsi of Nishchinta Baria village. Ali Newaz, officer-in-charge of Khoksa Police Station, said Sima, wife of Asad Munshi, their daughter Afsana and Sima’s brother Shamim, 3, fell sick after drinking soft drinks around 4:30pm. Later, they were rushed to the upazila health complex where on-duty doctor declared Afsana dead. Police seized the bottles of soft drinks, the OC added, according to UNB.
