1 electrocuted in city

A construction worker was electrocuted at Chawkbazar in old part of the city on Tuesday morning, police and hospital sources said. Hospital sources said the deceased was identified as Sajib Ahmed, 27. Ahmed Sharif, a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chawkbazar Police Station, said the youth came in contact with a live electric wire while he was lifting iron rod from the ground floor to the 3rd floor of Islambagh Community Centre around 8:30 am. ‘Soon after the accident, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctor declared him dead at 9am,’ he added, according to BSS.
