1 held with firearms, bombs in Jessore

Plainclothes arrested a local political leader and his associate along with a 9mm pistol, six live crude bombs and five bullets from Mahakal in Abhoynagar Upazila in Jessore on Monday night. The arrestees were identified as Abdul Wadud Sheikh, a local political leader and son of late Ismael Hossain of the area, and his associate Rabiul Islam Rabi, son of Intaz Ali, a resident of Chandrapara Khanka in Jessore town. Tipped off, a DB police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo at about 9:00pm, said Tofael Ahmed, a sub-inspector of Jessore DB police. Later, police recovered the 9mm pistol, the live crude bombs and the bullets from their possession, according to UNB.
