1 held with gold at Shahjalal Airport

Customs Intelligence officials have recovered 1.4-kilogram (kg) gold at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in Dhaka. They also arrested a passenger of a flight of an international airlines in this connection. The arrestee was identified as Abdul Hakim, 32, a resident of Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj district. Customs official Mustafa Jamal said Abdul Hakim, a passenger of Saudi Arabian Airlines, arrived in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon. He came to collect his luggage from ‘lost and found’ department of the airport in the afternoon. Customs officials found 12 gold bars, weighing 1.4-kg, after scanning the luggage while he was passing the green channel, he said, adding the gold was seized and the Saudi Airlines passenger was detained, according to a news agency.
