1 held with pistol, bullets in Panchagarh

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in a drive arrested an alleged smuggler along with a pistol and bullets at Sarialjot border point in Tentulia Upazila in Panchagarh district on Tuesday. The arrestee was identified as Nekbar Khan, son of Lebu Khan of Sarialjot village. Sources at BGB said being tipped off, a team of BGB-18 led by commanding officer Lt. Col. Mohammad Ariful Haque raided the house of Nekbar around 12:30am and recovered one pistol and two rounds of bullet after searching a cowshed of the house. Later, the BGB team arrested house owner Nekbar for alleged involvement in keeping arms. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
