1 killed 11 injured in SUST BCL infighting

One person has died and at least two others have been injured in a clash between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) factions in Sylhet. BCL is the student affiliate of the ruling party. A BCL faction vandalised the library of Hazrat Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), academic building, and the Shah Poran Hall (dormitory) of the university around 11am on Thursday. The clash broke out on the SUST campus when members of another faction of BCL reached the spot. Students said they had heard shots being fired during the clash that left at least 11 other people injured. ‘Additional police forces have been deployed on the campus after the clash. We are trying to control the situation,’ Jalalabad Police Station’s OC Aktar Hossain said, according to bdnews24.com.
