1 killed as covered-van rams rickshaw van

A woman has been killed and two other people have been injured in a road accident near Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge in Bhuapur in Tangail district. Locals and witnesses said the accident happened at Bhuapur link road on Bangabandhu (Jamuna) Bridge highway on Saturday afternoon when a Dhaka-bound covered van from North Bengal rammed a rickshaw van. The deceased was identified as Hazera Begum, 65, a passenger of the rickshaw van.
In another accident, 13 passengers were injured when a Sirajganj bound bus of ‘Ovi Enterprise’ from Dhaka collided head-on with a Dhaka bound bus from Sirajganj in Bathkura area on Dhaka-Tangail highway in the morning. The injured passengers were admitted to Tangail General Hospital and different other clinics, according to a news agency.
