The deceased was identified as Nasir Uddin, the kingpin of the robber gang, ‘Nasir Bahini’, and son of Tofail Ahmed of Dettapara village in the upazila. He was wanted in 30 cases, including of murder, robbery, extortion and abduction, police said. Being tipped off that a gang of bandits was taking preparation to commit robbery in Bhaberhat area, a team of Rab-4 conducted a drive in Bhaberhat in the early hours, said Major Mohammad Shakib Siddiqui of the Rab-4. Later, the Rab team recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital, said Mohammad Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Police Station.
