1 killed in road crash

A woman was killed and two others were injured in separate road accidents in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Thursday morning. Sub-inspector Abul Kamal Azad of Shibganj Police Station said an old woman named Saleha Begum, 65, wife of Sabdul Mandal, a resident of Gobinpur village, died on the spot as a truck crashed into her while crossing the Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid Road at Academy intersection around 8:45am. In another accident, a moving bus hit a motorcycle in Shibganj Upazila Health Complex area in the morning, leaving its rider, Shibganj upazila land officer Abdul Manan, 60, and his co-rider and son Mahadi Hasan, 25, critically injured, according to UNB.
