1 more body recovered: Launch capsize death toll reaches 56

Another dead body was recovered from Meghna River on Sunday afternoon, four days after ‘MV Miraj-4’ launch sank near Daulatpur ghat at Munshiganj’s Gazaria upazila. Gazaria UNO ATM Mahbub Karim in the evening said the body of a male passenger of the launch was found floating in Meghna River nearly 1 kilometre south of the scene of accident. The man was yet to be identified, he added. The latest recovery has taken the death toll in the launch capsize to 56. An unspecific number of people remained missing till filing this report at 12:40pm on Monday. The local administration was still contuining search for the missing, according to a news agency.
