1 murdered in Sunamganj

A man was killed and 20 other people were injured in a clash between two groups for a land in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila on Friday evening. The dead is Nurul Islam, a resident of Jharjharia village. Locals said Nurul and Joynal Miah of the village had an enmity over the ownership of a piece of land. Following the enmity, both groups, equipped with homemade weapons, engaged in a clash in on Friday evening when a chase and counter-chase took place, leaving 21 people, including Nurul Islam injured. The injured were rescued and rushed to a local hospital. Nurul died on the way to the hospital, according to a news agency.
