\\\'1 question paper\\\' proposed to plug leaks

Separate questions papers for each education board and two exams a day for students are being proposed by the body probing the leak of HSC question papers. The committee’s chief and education ministry’s additional secretary Sohrab Hossain said that they will hand over their findings to the education minister next week. The English second paper test of this year’s HSC exams on April 9 was postponed, after allegations that it had been leaked. The next day, a 7-member probe body headed by Hossain was formed to investigate the issue and provide suggestions to prevent this. The probe body, however, failed to trace anyone involved in the leaking of the papers. In its report, they recommended to take help of the law enforcers to do that, said Hossain. ‘There’s no need to hold public exams for so long. We will recommend holding two exams a day,’ he said. According to Hossain, separate question papers for each education board rather than a unique one for all will minimize the woes in case of a leak. ‘If there’s a unique question paper for all boards, then in case of leaks, exams across the country have to be postponed,’ said the education ministry official. The committee will also recommend modernising the security of packaging systems for papers as well securing the steps starting from preparation of questions to printing them, according to bdnews24.com.
