10 air rifles recovered in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel recovered 10 Indian rifles (air gun) from Baropota border under Benapole union in Sharsha upazila of Jessore on Sunday. Commanding officer Shafiuddin of BGB-23 Battalion said on secret information, a BGB team conducted a drive at Baropota and recovered the 10 Indian air rifles while those were being smuggled to Bangladesh in the early morning. Sensing presence of the border guards, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind the arms. The air rifles were deposited to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed, according to UNB.
