Ten Bangladesh nationals were arrested on Sunday in India’s West Bengal state for travelling without proper documents. The Bangladeshis were arrested from a bus while on their way to Balurghat town in West Bengal’s South Dinajpur district, some 440-kilometre (km) from Kolkata. ‘Acting on a tip off, we searched a Balurghat-bound bus and arrested the Bangladeshis for traveling without valid documents. We have picked up them for questioning,’ police officer Swapan Banerjee said in Balurghat. In the last several weeks, police and the Border Security Force (BSF) rounded up 100 Bangladeshis in West Bengal for not having valid documents, according to IANS.
