10 BCL men suspended from Osmani Medical College

The authorities of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College on Saturday suspended its 10 students, also members of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), for their suspected link with the killing of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist Towhidul Islam.
The suspended students are BCL president of Osmani Medical College unit Soumen Dey, general secretary Saiful Hye, Rafi, Fahim, Jubari, Sharif, Antar, Hafiz, Pathan and Ashish.
Meanwhile, the city unit of BNP, which called a half-day hartal in the district for Sunday protesting the killing, withdrew its shutdown programme following the suspension of the BCL men.
JCD activist Towhidul Islam, a fourth year MBBS student of the medical college and an inmate of Abu Sina Hall, sustained injuries in an attack allegedly by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in his dormitory room at the college on Wednesday evening, according to UNB.
