10 feared dead in road accident

At least 10 people are feared dead and 20 others injured in a fatal road accident in Rajapur Upazila in Jhalakati district on Tuesday afternoon. Being informed police rushed to the spot. Local people said the law enforcers with the help of them have started rescue operation. Many injured people were rushed to Rajapur Health Complex. From there some critically injured persons were shifted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Police, quoting locals said the accident took place in Biswashbari area in the afternoon. Locals and hospital sources said, a bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering while competing with another bus near the under-construction Rajapur-Biswashbari Bridge at 3:45pm, leaving at least 10 killed and 20 injured around 3:45pm according to a news agency.
