10 gold bars recovered in Ctg: 2 held

Two suspected smugglers were arrested along with 10 gold bars at Shah Amanat (RA) International Airport in Chittagong on Tuesday morning. The arrestees were identified by the Customs officials at the airport as Md Rashed of Feni and Nurul Afsar, who hailed Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong district. Mashiur Rahman Mandal, assistant commissioner (Customs) of the airport said they were held with the precious metal today. Customs officials said a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Abu Dhabi landed at Shah Amanat (RA) Airport around 10:00am. Later, the customs men found the gold bars searching their luggage as they came to the airport by the flight. On Monday, 18 gold bars were seized by the Customs officials at the airport, according to a news agency.
