10 hurt as BCL groups clash in Dhaka College

A clash on Friday night between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at Dhaka College left 10 students injured, the police said.
The clash between Tareq group and Titu group erupted at around 2:00pm after some students loyal to the former group took control of several seats at North Hostel of the college.
Two groups then became engaged in battle and their chase and counter-chase continued for next one hour before the police brought the situation under control.
Some 10 students were injured in the clashes and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Witnesses said they have heard sound of several bullet shots, which the police denied.
A tense situation is prevailing on the college campus.
Meanwhile, a Jubo League leader succumbed to his head injury in the city's United Hospital.
The police said organising secretary of ward 41 Jubo League Manjurul Hasan Rinku (30) was shot in his head on May 9 after he went out of house with his two friends.
A case was filed and the police arrested two persons in this connection.
