10 hurt in a clash over stolen goods in Benapole

BENAPOLE, Oct 26 (UNB): At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of ruling party Awami League over snatching stolen goods at Dighirpar village in Benapole Tuesday evening.
Rashed Ali, no.5 Dighirpar ward councilor, was among the injured.
Officer-in-Charge Hasan Hafizur Rahman of Benapole port thana said some activists of no.5 ward Awami League stole some goods, including cotton, from the port area Monday late night.
When they reached their Bhabarber village another group of no.6 ward AL attacked them and snatched the stolen goods.
A clash ensued when activists of no.5 ward AL went the neighbouring Dighirpar village to recover their stolen goods in the evening leaving 10 people injured from both sides.
