10 hurt in cops-RMG workers clash in city

At least 10 people, including two cops, were injured in a clash between the workers of two readymade garment factories and police at Kachukhet near Dhaka Cantonment on Saturday. Police said about 2,000 workers of two garment factories took to the street around 9:00am and staged protest demonstration as the authorities concerned closed the two factories without paying salaries and Eid bonus to the workers. Police charged baton and lobbed tear gas shells to disperse them. A chase and counter-chase took place between the workers and police, triggering a clash that left 10 people injured. Aslam Uddin, inspector (investigation) of Kafrul Police Station was among the injured, according to UNB.
