10 injured by muggers in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Dec 14 (UNB): At least 10 people, including a jewellery shop owner, were injured as they tried to stop muggers from breaking into jewellery shops at GPO more in the city on Saturday afternoon.
Local people said a group of muggers went to the spot in a microbus and tried to break into two jewelry shops named 'Aparupa' and 'Gini Gold' around 8:30 pm.
As the staff of the shops and local people stood against their attempt, the muggers blasted three crude bombs and hurriedly fled the scene, leaving 10 people injured.
Sub-inspector Jahir of the police camp at the hospital confirmed that 10 injured people were admitted to the hospital in connection with a mugging incident in the afternoon.
