10 missing in Padma speedboat collision

At least 10 people went missing and 12 others were injured when two speedboats collided in Padma River in Char Hazera area under Shibchar upazila in Madaripur on Monday night. AK Masud Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shibchar Police Station, said a Kewrakandi-bound speedboat from Mawa collided with another speedboat in the middle of the river around 11:45pm. The accident left 12 people injured and 10 others missing. Among the injured, seven were admitted to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. A search for the missing people is underway, said the OC, according to UNB.
