10 more die, death toll reaches 293

The government on Friday reported 10 more deaths due to the mosquito-borne dengue fever, including eight in Dhaka city.
With the new casualties, the dengue death toll reached 293, including 234 in Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Last year, 281 people died of dengue, the highest in the country's history.
Besides, 1,757 new dengue patients were hospitalised throughout the country in the last 24 hours ending at 8:00 am on Friday. Of the total, 892 were from Dhaka.
The DGHS earlier said the dengue situation in Dhaka was "stable", although the rate of dengue cases increased a bit.
Meanwhile, the total dengue cases rose to 61,473. Of the total cases, 33,454 were from Dhaka.
A total of 9,026 people were being treated in hospitals across the country. Of them, 4,568 were from Dhaka. Of the total admitted, 52,154 patients recovered and returned home, and of them, 28,652 were from Dhaka, added the DGHS.
