10 powerful bombs, gunpowder recovered

MEHERPUR, Nov 15: The police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a special joint drive have recovered 10 powerful bombs, splinters and gunpowder at Gangni Upazila in Meherpur. Officer-in-Charge Matiur Rahman of Gangni Police Station and RAB 6 commander of Meherpur ASP Sheikh Zahidul Islam said, acting on a tip-off the police and RAB conducted a special operation at a sugarcane farm at Nawdapara village of the Upazila Monday at around 9am and recovered the explosives but none could be held. "The recovered bombs are very powerful and have been kept in a water-filled bucket in the police station premises to deactivate them." —bdnews24.com
