10 professionals honoured with Rapport Award

A total of 10 professionals have been honoured with the Eighth Rapport Award for Excellence in Human Resource Development-2008.
In this connection, an award giving ceremony was organised in the city Thursday. Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed chaired the function, said a press release.
Vice Chancellor of the North South University Dr Hafiz GA Siddiqi spoke at the function as the special guest, while President of the Transparency International, Bangladesh Prof Dr Muzaffer Ahmed was the chief guest.
The recipients of the award are: Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, former secretaries of the government Salahuddin Ahmed and Manzoor Ul Karim, former member of the Planning Commission Dr Nazrul Islam, Managing Director of the Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Fariduddin Ahmed, Director of the Channel 1 Shykh Seraj, Secretary General of the Dhaka University Alumni Association Rakibuddin Ahmed, Communication Expert Mun Mun Rahman, Managing Director of the Academic Press and Publishers Limited Shahina Rahman and Associate Professor of the Bangladesh Open University Dr Selina Akhter Jahan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Muzaffer Ahmed stressed the need for human resources development and appreciated the role played by Rapport Bangladesh Limited in his area as the lone private sector training institute.
Earlier Mr Salehuddin Ahmed unwrapped the cover of the book "Let us Honour Them" written by Chairman and Managing Director of the Rapport Bangladesh Limited Dr M Mosharraf Hossain on the life of the award recipients.
M Mosharraf Hossain moderated the function, the release added.
