10 UPs of Dimla, Jaldhaka upazilas affected by flood

NILPHAMARI, Sept 13: Ten Union Parishads (UP) of Dimla and Jaldhaka Upazila in Nilphamari district of Teesta river basin has been affected by recent flood.
Sources said more than 500 hectares of land of Transplanted Aman were partially damaged. Purbo Satnai UP, Khogakhoribari UP, Tepa Khoribari UP, Goyabari UP, Khalisa Chapani UP and Jhunagar Chapani UP of Dimla Upazila, are where 375 hectares of T. Aman crop were affected at Golmunda UP, Douwabari UP, Shoulmari UP and Koimari UP of Jaldhaka Upazila where 125 hectares of cropland were affected. However flood water of the river basin has been receded by now.
While contacted in charge DD.DAE Nilphamri Abdul Wajed said losses of different crops is now under assessment and a strategy of possible recovery of loss is to be undertaken as well.
