100 gold bars seized in city

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have seized 100 gold bars and arrested a man after a private car was searched in Dhaka city. The arrested has been identified as Bijoy Sarker, 42. Operation Officer of Rab-3 Mohammad Anisuzzaman said Sarker was arrested in front of the National Press Club (NPC) on Sunday afternoon. “We seized 100 bars of gold weighting around 11 kilograms after searching a white car,” he said. The official of the elite crime bustling force, however, could not immediately ascertain where the gold had come from. Legal action was being taken against Bijoy, the RAB official said, according to bdnews24.com.
