$100b export earnings in next three fiscals: Titu

The government wants to increase the volume of export earnings to $100 billion in the next three fiscal years.
State minister for commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu disclosed the plan at the 146th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) at TCB building in the capital on Tuesday, according to a press statement.
The state arm EPB plays a responsible role in improving the country's export trade. The country's exports volume is now $63 billion which was once unbelievable. The government aims to increase exports export earnings amount to $110 billion in
the next three financial years. Achieving the target will be made change and cooperation, Mr Titu said.
He explained that compared to the number of exports, priority should be on how to use local resources, how much more employment can be created.
The state minister said, 'In future, fairs should be held separately by product sector. The participation of domestic and foreign traders should be increased in the fair for fulfilling the objective of the fair.
He added that local sari fair would be held in Kolkata next September during the Puja.
EPB board members AK Azad MP, FBCCI president Mahbubul Alam, DCCI president Ashraf Ahmed, MCCI president Kamran T. Rahman, commerce secretary Md Selim Uddin and senior executives of the state agencies were present.
