100m people to fall victim to cancer in 50 yrs due to CFC

Additional 100 million people is likely to fall victim to skin cancer within next 50 years in the country if usage of CFC and contraction of ozone sphere continue at the present level.
Another 45 million (4.5 crore) people would also suffer from various problems relating to eyesight, reports UNB.
Speakers at a seminar disclosed these at the Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) Bhaban auditorium Thursday to mark "World Cancer Day".
The seminar was told that at present, cancer mortality rate in Bangladesh was eight per cent. The rate would rise to 13 per cent within next 20 years.
