Contraband gold weighing 106 kilograms have been recovered from the toilet of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Dhaka. The Biman flight had arrived from Dubai and the gold was found abandoned in the aircraft’s toilet by Customs officials. Customs Deputy Director Mostafizur Rahman said the gold was recovered around 2:15pm on Saturday. The Biman flight landed at the airport around 9am, he informed. The mystery of leaving behind such a large quantity of gold was not clear, but officials suspect those who brought it on the flight could well be planning to take it out with the help of somebody on the airport staff with access to the aircrafts. Recently some cleaners have been arrested by Customs men when they were found with gold. It was however a mystery how such a large quantity of gold could get past the airport security scan at Dubai, the business hub of the Middle East, according to bdnews24.com.
