10,650 families rehabilitated in clustered village: Sherif

Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif has said that the government has rehabilitated 10,650 homeless, destitute and river-eroded families through constructing clustered villages across the country. The government is trying to play a significant role in the development of the youths of the rehabilitated families by providing training and financial assistance to make them self-reliant, he told a seminar on training and loan activities in clustered villages. The seminar was held in city’s BCS administration training centre. Sherif said the government is working to ensure education, food, home and health facilities for all. BCS Administration Training Academy Rector Shafiq Alam Mehedi, additional secretary of land ministry Muazzem Hossain and BRDB director general Abdul Jalil Miah spoke on the occasion with Clustered Villages Project Director Sirajuddin Ahmed in the chair, according to BSS.
