109 slain cops honoured

Bangladesh Police has accorded a reception to the families of police personnel who were killed last year while performing duties. The function was held at the Police Convention Hall in the city’s Ramna where State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan was present as the chief guest and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hassan Mahmood Khandker as a special guest. Speaking on the occasion, Asaduzzaman said some 357 police members died last year of whom 109 were killed while on duty. He termed ‘best members’ of the police force the 109 policemen, according to UNB.
