1,094 more test positive, 19 die

The deadly coronavirus infected 1,094 more people and also claimed 19 lives in the country in the last 24 hours ending Saturday morning.
With the new cases, the total caseload reached 3,97,507 and the death tally went up to 5,780 since March, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement.
During the 24-hour period, some 10,998 samples were tested, taking the test tally to 22,46,486. Also, 1,498 more people recovered from the deadly disease, raising the recovery tally to 3,13,563.
The DGHS reported the recovery rate at 78.88 per cent, case detection rate at 17.96 and the fatality rate at 1.45 per cent.
Of the latest 19 fatalities, 17 victims were males and two were females and all of them died in hospitals. Two of them were aged between 21 and 40 years, four 41-50 years, three 51-60 years and the remaining were above 60 years.
Dhaka division recorded the most fatalities at 13, the DGHS data revealed.
Among all the deaths reported so far, 2,976 people (51.49 per cent) died in Dhaka division, 1,153 people (19.95 per cent) in Chattoragm, 369 people (6.38 per cent) in Rajshahi and 463 people (8.01 per cent) in Khulna.
The country reported the first fatality from Covid-19 on March 18.
Currently, 111 laboratories are offering coronavirus testing facility across the country, the DGHS said.
