10m fake Indian rupees recovered at airport

Customs officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport arrested a Pakistani national with about 10 million fake Indian rupees Friday. The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Arif ( 40).  Contacted, Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Farid Al Mamun said Arif landed at the airport from Colombo by a Mihin Lanka Ltd flight at 12:45pm. When he was trying to leave the customs lounge through the green channel, customs officials challenged him and detected the presence of foreign currency after scanning his luggage, said Mamun. Searching the luggage, the customs officials found the 10 million fake Indian rupees at about 1:30pm, he said.
