10th Leathertech expo kicks off Nov 21

Wednesday, 20 November 2024

The 10th edition of 'Leathertech Bangladesh 2024', an international technology tradeshow focused on leather, footwear machinery, shoe materials, chemicals, and accessories for the footwear and leather goods sector, is going to be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on November 21-23.
With nearly 200 exhibitors from 10 countries set to participate, the event promises to be a key platform for industry professionals to explore cutting-edge technologies and solutions that address quality, efficiency, and environmental concerns, says a statement.

Over the years, Leathertech has become the preferred destination for manufacturers and new entrants looking to access the growing and expanding leather and leather products sector of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh leather sector is experiencing a remarkable recovery, with exports reaching a five-year high in the most recent quarter, signalling a positive turnaround for the industry after a prolonged period of challenges brought on by the pandemic.
Despite the economic slowdown in some global markets, local exporters are reporting an increase in overseas orders, thanks to Bangladesh's competitive labour costs, which makes "Made in Bangladesh" shoes more affordable.
The Bangladesh Leather and Forward Linkage Sectors, both domestic and export-focused, are poised for further growth, with local factories increasingly capable of producing high-quality products.
Industry experts believe that the sector is set to leapfrog into new growth trajectories, especially as the country works toward obtaining LWG certification, a move that could open new markets and drive export volumes even higher.
As Bangladesh continues to consolidate its position as a reliable supplier, industry leaders are confident that the country is well on its way to becoming a dominant player in the global leather and footwear markets.
