11 alcohol dealers held with huge liquor in city

Eleven alcohol peddlers, including two women, were arrested Sunday with 21,400 bottles of country-made liquor from north Badda in the city. A police team led by AC of Gulshan raided L H Company, a licence holder at Hossain Market in the morning, and found it producing alcohol in access of permitted quota. Those arrested are Shilpi (40), Hamida (40) Lipton (27), Anwar (30), Kartik Chandra (30), Hossain (18), Asadul (18), Noor Uddin (32), Helal (35), Shahid Miah (30) and Gafur (45). They were undergoing intense interrogation. The owner of L H Company went into hiding. — UNB
