11 BD pilgrims die in S Arabia in 1 week

Eight Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims who went to perform the Holy Hajj in Saudi Arabia, died in the kingdom over the last one week ending on Sunday. Sources at Bangladesh’s religious affairs ministry said, M Akter Hossain, 62, who hailed from Munshiganj district, died on Saturday. A total of three pilgrims passed away on Friday. They were identified as Mohammad Nooruddin Ahmed, 64, hailed from Dhaka, Mohammad Fazul Elahi, 45, of the same district and Mohammad Asmat Ali, 72, hailed from Comilla. Azizul Islam, 65, hailed from Rangpur and Samsun Nahar, 46, hailed from Chittagong – both died on September 25. On September 24, two pilgrims passed away. They were identified as Abdul Hasim Mia, 70, hailed from Narsingdi and Mohammad Abdul Aziz, 58, hailed from Bogra. Abdul Hoq, 66, hailed from Noakhali died on Sept 22. Mohammad Yakub, 57, hailed from Feni died in the morning of Sept 21 while Sahanara Begum, 77, hailed from Chuadanga expired on the same day, according to a news agency.
