Friday, 8 August 2014

Capitalism's only existed for 500 years or so. In that time, some businesses have shaped human society more than others, whether by subjugating continents and controlling commodities or giving us microwaves and cheeseburgers.  Here are a few of the ones that have shaped our modern world. Name of the companies are;
1.1600: The British East India Company ruled much of the globe.
2. 1853: The Otis Elevator Company made the modern city possible.
3. 1870: Standard Oil controlled the world's most precious resource.
4. 1877: AT&T was the only way you could make calls.
5. 1892: General Electric invented most of your home.
6. 1903: Ford Motor Company turned people into drivers.
7. 1906: Xerox gave us the tech to make computers consumer-friendly.
8. 1927: Pan American World Airways made flying a stylish thing to do.
9. 1955: McDonald’s ushered in a new (and very American) way to eat.
10. 1962: Walmart changed the way we shop.
