11 die in Pakistan truck-van collision

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (Xinhua): At least 11 people were killed, including nine women, and several others injured in a deadly road crash in Pakistan's southern district of Hyderabad on Monday, said a senior police official.
Dost Mohammad Mangrio, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Hyderabad, said the accident occurred on Tando Muhammad Khan Road in the city when a speedy truck collided with a passenger van, killing eight people on the spot. Three of the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.
The deceased women worked for a private sales company based in Hyderabad, a district in the country's southern Sindh province and they were going to a nearby village to sell the products when the incident happened, said Mangrio, adding that the cause of the accident could not be ascertained yet.
