11 killed in Bogra road accident

BOGRA, Oct 19: Eleven people, including four women and a child, were killed and 30 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway at Dhankundi under Sherpur Upazila in Bogra district Friday. Witnesses said the Dhaka-bound passenger bus SA Paribahan coming from Dinajpur collided with the Bogra-bound truck at about 1:15pm, leaving nine passengers dead on the spot and two others at hopital. Nine of them were identified as Army sergeant Ariful Islam (40), Mahfuza (15), Ruma (28), Dwip (8), Badal (25), Rumi (25), Akhtaruzzaman (19), Masud Rana (25), and Farhad (22). All of them hailed from different parts of Dinajpur district. — UNB
